Brain Rules - John Medina

Brain Rules - John Medina:
This was an exceptional read. Just a glance at this book very well structured (not to mention a different logo for each of the 12 chapters) and you already feel this is about logic and reason. The author must be a scientific mind.

But just how good is that! Easy to read book, great insight and great ideas. I loved it. I'm sure the author is a teacher beloved by his students. Good examples and stories give a good illustration. I could not follow the biology part of it. I would not tell you where is which part of the brain…

This book as confirmed to me:
- Time spaced repetition works. The use of Mnemosyne should improve my kanjis. I hope to increase it.
- I should support my son a lot for creativity. The school may take it off from him, especially if he has a lot of homework from two languages.
- Sport is good for my brain, body and self control. Let's continue running!

So, the brain rules are =
#1: Exercise boosts brain power.
#2: The human brain evolved, too.
#3: Every brain is wired differently.
#4: We don't pay attention to boring things.
#5: Repeat to remember.
#6: Remember to repeat.
#7: Sleep well, think well.
#8: Stressed brains don't learn the same way.
#9: Stimulate more of the senses.
#10: Vision trumps all other senses.
#11: Male and female brains are different.
#12: We are powerful and natural explorers.
